Hants Community Hospital
Throughout the history of the Club, the local Payzant Memorial Hospital was a beneficiary of regular support. A room designated "Rotary Room" was furnished and marked by a suitable plaque. In the nineteen-fifties, a substantial contribution was given to the purchase of an x-ray machine. Another project was the equipping of a physiotherapy room at a cost of approximately $6,000. More recently, with the opening of the Hants Community Hospital, the Rotary Club pledged $7,000 for equipping a children's room, and $4,000 for the purchase of other equipment, including a crash cart and oxygen tent. The 1988 Radio Auction Special Fund raised $2,001 for the purchase of a Heart Start Unit used in local ambulances. In 1988 our Club donated $1,000 to the new Annapolis Valley Regional Hospital Fund and pledged $1,000 per year for the next four years.
